ENGINEERED STONE: blends the best of both worlds - a natural finish providing strength and durability that lasts.
Engineered Stone is a composite slab made up of approximately 90-95% crushed quartz stone bound together by a polymer resin. Engineered stone is ideal for many applications including bathroom and kitchen benchtops and wall surrounds. It provides a very hard surface with a consistent pattern. It may also have other materials like coloured glass, shells, metals, or mirrors added for aesthetic reasons.
Engineered stone results in a high-end finish in a huge range of colours and styles, including marble and granite finishes.
The brands of Engineered Stone include Caesarstone, Silestone, Uniquartz, Compac, Smartstone, Archant and Quantum Quartz.
Caesarstone is a man-made non-porous stone that provides many of the benefits of granite, but with more consistent colouring and an extensive catalogue of light colours. Developed in 1987, Caesarstone is manufactured with 93% natural quartz, which is one of nature’s strongest elements. Pigments are also fused together by an advanced binding system.
Caesarstone is produced in Israel and distributed by the Laminex Group, which is owned by Fletcher Building Products Limited. It is highly resistant to scratches, stains, chips, cracks, mold, mildew and heat – with no sealing required. It was awarded the highest possible results for stain and dry heat resistance by the Australasian testing authority CSIR IT, so it won’t be stained by most household chemicals, acids and oil. All Caesarstone products come with a 10-year warranty. Just clean with warm soapy water.
Caesarstone slabs are generally available in 20mm and 30mm thicknesses, which can be run directly on our machinery – saving time and money. We can also mitre 20mm slabs to create seamless edge profiles of 40mm and above.

Silestone is a dense, non-porous man-made stone that delivers unsurpassed reliability and performance. It’s the only countertop with antimicrobial protection included in every slab. It also has an extensive variety of naturally beautiful colours. It is manufactured with 94% natural quartz, which is one of nature’s strongest elements. Antimicrobial product protection is built-in during manufacturing to provide continuous protection.
Silestone is produced by the Cosentino Group in Spain. Its non-porous surface protects your countertops from staining, and prevents liquids from penetrating the surface. It is scratch and stain resistant with no sealing required. All Silestone products come with a 25-year warranty. Just clean with warm soapy water.

UniQuartz countertop slabs are a combination of hard quartz stone (93%) and the binding properties of polymer resins (7%), UniQuartz is an engineering marvel.
UniQuartz slabs can beat natural stones like granite and marble in looks and strength and are suited to kitchens, bathrooms and other countertops that need non-porous, stain-resistant, tough surfaces. Rest assured, we use the most environment friendly methods for manufacturing quality quartz countertops.
Our countertops come with incredible sheen and fit in seamlessly, giving you joint-free slabs. As against the regular size of 3.00′ x 1.40′ common with other manufacturers, UniQuartz Super Size slabs measure 3.20′ x 1.60′. These provide you with the ability to minimise unsightly joints in countertops and provide more economic cutting of your countertops to save you money.

QUARTZ OR ENGINEERED STONE
Engineered Stone is a composite slab made up of approximately 90-95% crushed quartz stone bound together by a polymer resin. Engineered stone is ideal for many applications including bathroom and kitchen benchtops and wall surrounds. It provides a very hard surface with a consistent pattern. It may also have other materials like coloured glass, shells, metals, or mirrors added for aesthetic reasons.
Regular Cleaning
To keep your countertop stain free it is best to clean any spills such as grease, wine, vinegar or coffee etc immediately.
Cleaning Stains and Dried Spills
For dried spills use a non-abrasive scrub pad. Engineered stone generally can withstand most household chemicals but be aware harsh cleaning agents have a high chance of reacting to the resin on the countertop surface and will cause staining. Stay away from cleaners and use dish soaps, antibacterial soaps or hand soaps instead.
Waxes and Sealing
One of the many benefits of engineered stone is that it requires no sealants or waxes to be applied during its lifetime. Because it is non-porous a sealer will not absorb into the material and would be ineffective. With normal cleaning your countertop will always retain its luster.
BENEFITS of ENGINEERED stone
Use
Ideal for kitchen bench tops, splashbacks, bathroom vanities and walls.
Heat Resistant
While Engineered Stone can withstand moderate heat, it is not heat proof. It is Recommended to use a heat pad as prevention.
Scratch Resistant
With added quartz, the material is extremely hard wearing and robust and scratch and chip resistant.
Stain Resistant
Low maintenance, non porous material won’t stain. Spills should be wiped up immediately.
Durability
Doesn’t need regular resealing to keep it looking fresh and new. Just clean as normal.
Man-Made
Manufactured from man-made stone slabs. The slabs are made with 95% natural quartz aggregates resulting in a strong durable product.
